Who We Are
Meet Our Founder and Director
Hi, I’m Jen, the Founder and Director of Positive Behaviour Supports QLD.
With a background as a Head of Special Education Services and over a decade of experience supporting neurodivergent young people and people with disabilities, I’ve seen firsthand the difference that truly collaborative and strengths-based behaviour support can make. I’ve worked closely with students aged 4–25 across a wide range of settings, supporting those with complex needs, disability, trauma backgrounds, and mental health challenges.
In addition to my behaviour support training and ongoing supervision, I bring deep expertise in:
Trauma-informed practice
A variety of behaviour support frameworks
Supporting educators, support teams and families to build confidence, clarity, and consistency
Why We're Different
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all behaviour plans. We take the time to understand the person behind the behaviour, and we design supports that are respectful, realistic, and deeply personalised. We believe in partnership and a person-centered lens.
We have lived experience in neuro-diverse families including family with behaviours of concern and disability. We feel you, we hear you, we understand you - we get it!
Whether you’re a support coordinator looking for a responsive, reliable practitioner, or a family member/carer seeking someone who truly listens and understands – you’re in the right place.
Current Availability for Specialist Behaviour Support Services
We provide Specialist Behaviour Support services in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
Services are delivered by a registered NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner and provided under a registered NDIS Provider. We are able to deliver the full scope of Specialist Behaviour Support services, including the development and review of Behaviour Support Plans and, where required, support relating to regulated restrictive practices in accordance with NDIS and state legislation.
Our approach is neuro-affirming, person-centred and grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles. We recognise that behaviour is communication. Rather than focusing on “fixing” behaviours, we work collaboratively to understand unmet needs, build skills, strengthen environments, and improve overall quality of life.
Services may include:
• Comprehensive functional behavioural assessment
• Development of Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
• Collaborative strategy development with families, carers, educators and support teams
• Capacity-building and coaching to support long-term skill development
• Review and reduction planning for regulated restrictive practices (where applicable)
• Ongoing monitoring, reflection and adjustment of strategies
We prioritise dignity, autonomy, and the rights of participants, ensuring supports are respectful, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual’s strengths and goals.
We currently have capacity for referrals and welcome the opportunity to work alongside you.
Referrals & Enquiries
We welcome referrals under the following NDIS support categories:
• Specialist Behaviour Support
• Improved Daily Living
• Improved Relationships
We currently have capacity to accept new participants and welcome enquiries from families, support coordinators, plan managers, educators, and allied health professionals.
If you would like to make a referral, explore support options, or simply have a conversation about whether our approach is the right fit, please reach out.
Our work is collaborative, respectful and neuro-affirming. We prioritise strong relationships, practical strategies, and meaningful capacity-building that supports long-term positive change — not just short-term behaviour management.
Whether you are seeking comprehensive behaviour support, functional assessment, skill development, or team collaboration, we are here to support participants and their support networks with clarity, care, and professionalism.
